Morocco, who reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar 2022, did not hesitate and won against the team ranked first in the world by FIFA.
The match that was well attended by over 65,000 fans at the Batouta Stadium in Tangier, saw Morocco try to get off to a fast start but Brazil stood firm and the match almost turned into a stalemate, due to what the Samba Boys said was bad management of the match which was loaded with a lot of trouble.
Brazil was more aggressive and controlled possession while Morocco were always dangerous in the surprise attack.
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou nearly gifted Brazil a goal in the 22nd minute with a funny mistake when he tried to put the ball at his feet, but Rony’s shot towards the goal was blocked by a defender and Bounou managed to save in time to prevent Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior from scoring.
A minute later, Bounou once again made a mistake by giving the ball to Vinicius Junior who put the ball in the corner, but the effort was ruled out by VAR after Vinicuius was ruled offside.
This was an international friendly match and Morocco used the match as a homecoming since the end of the world cup. In addition, Morocco becomes the second team in Africa to defeat Brazil in the history of world football after Cameroon
