Father Allegedly Murders 2-Year-Old Son To Keep Inheritance

Police in Bugoge, Kayunga District have arrested a family man for the alleged murder of his two year old son. It is alleged that the suspect identified as Walusimbi Hakim had taken control of one of his dead sibling Lameka Ssengendo’s property that the family wanted him to handover.

The suspect who acted as the heir to the estate is accused of mismanaging the deceased’s property to an extent of chasing away all the family members and marrying two wives from the house; something contrary to the law.

“We used to stay in this house until he threw us out. We were constantly battling court cases and unknown police crimes we had not even committed. He would go ahead and withdraw these charges; something which was confusing to us.’ A family member narrated.

It was after these constant misunderstandings that the family proposed a major meeting that would see him thrown out of the estate and restore peace in the family. Walusimbi, however, visited Collins Kafeero who was set to chair the meeting on behalf of the Resident District Commissioner and revealed that he would not make it for the meeting the next day because he would have lost a child.

To the surprise of the family members, on the day of the meeting, Walusimbi’s child had mysteriously died and the body had been locked inside the house without alerting anyone. Witnesses insist that he was responsible for the murder because the child was alive the previous day.

According to Walusimbi and the mother of the deceased, their child died at 5:00 PM and accused family members of being responsible for the death of the toddler.

Walusimbi was taken into custody and the body of the deceased rushed to Mulago referral Hospital for a postmortem to ascertain the death of the child.
