Soccer Referee Suspended For Adding 42 Minutes Over Stoppage Time
A Bolivian referee on Monday left soccer lovers in utter shock after adding 42 minutes on stoppage time.
In a match witnessed between Atletico Palmaflor and Blooming, at 86th minute, Palmaflor was leading with two goals against Blooming which was goalless when Gaston Rodriguez scored for Blooming.
After the score, Gaston’s goal resulted to video brawls that took 17 minutes with a claim he was offside but later, the goal was awarded to Blooming.
The referee Julio Fernando Gutierrez and other five assistants after the video brawls over the goal, added 10 minutes over the stoppage time but the game proceeded up to 42 Minutes when he blew his last whistle.
In procession, Blooming later netted another goal reaching a draw but at 38th minute of the added time, Caseta scored for Atletico Palmaflor, taking home 3 goals against Blooming, 2 goals.
However, Bolivian Primera Division officials for football federation, after the match they looked over the matter where the center referee of the day was suspended over the added 42 minutes in world football history.
” We are happy for our team’s victory against Blooming, despite the suspicious refereeing.
“We are sorry about it and ask for a performance review of all the referees who exaggeratedly prolong matches. We would not like to think that they were looking to make our team lose” Palmaflor chief executive Evo Morales said, as reported by the Daily Star.
