Raila Calls Off Boycott On Star Newspaper
Azimio leader Raila Odinga in a press briefing dated 23rd March, 2023 has come out to announce a call off on boycott of Star Newspaper.
The ODM leader explained that they did so following a consultation with stakeholders as they were set to launch official complains with the Media Council of Kenya to point out the biases on the Newspaper.
“Following consultations with stakeholders, we have agreed to call off our boycott on Star Newspaper. Instead, we have filed a complaint with the Media Council of Kenya to point out the biases on the Newspaper.”
In a press briefing on 21st March, 2023, the Azimio leader announced that the coalition was going to boycott three companies in the country.
The trio included, Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank and Radio Africa Group particularly the Star Newspaper.
“We will boycott Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank and Radio Africa Group particularly the Star Newspaper,” Raila Odinga read out in his speech
The coalition explained that the three companies have been partisan in what seemingly suggest that the companies are only supporting the Government.
The call off in boycott now means that their supporters who stopped consuming content can now go ahead and read the newspaper.
