Home » Fear As Thugs Threaten To Behead Three Babies

Residents of Wakimese Zone, Kyengera are currently on tension following anonymous letters that were dropped around the village targeting their children. The handwritten letters single out young children who they threaten to behead because they seek three babies’ heads in what has been suspected to be money rituals.

Over the time, we have seen gangs throw similar letters with threatening messages before attacking the victims and Kyengera happens to be one of the areas that have experienced this violence. LC Chairman Ganagwa Esperito called upon the residents to be on a look out for their children and not take matters lightly.

“We might treat it as a small matter but it is not. We recall the panga welding men who threw these letters joked about them but they went on and murdered people” He noted.

Residents who got hold of the letters have revealed that they now live in fear of their children falling victims of the murder spree.

“We do not know what to do. We are looking at different ways to protect our children, something which will be challenging.” A worried mother said.

Kyengera Town Council Mayor, Walukagga Mathias has called upon parents to be vigilant and always monitor the movements of their children. He also called upon police to intensify security with a full time patrol to see that the goons are brought to justice.

“Do not let your children walk alone to school or on errands. These people might be threatening or even serious because we have witnessed it. Protect those children at all costs.” He said.

Walukagga tags the inhumane act on the rising levels of poverty among the youths that forces them to do ridiculous things for money.

“People want money and they are tired of the poverty. They might kidnap your child and ask you for money you cannot afford. Failure to deliver, they will behead your child.” He said.

The Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the letters and has opened an active investigation to see that the culprits are apprehended.

“If there is any news or any leads about the anonymous letters thrown, we urge the residents to come forward. We are taking the letters to our forensics to see if we can compare the handwritings with the previous letters” He said.

The authors of the letters remain anonymous because they usually have no address and the perpetrators use poor handwriting to avoid being detected.
