Protestors in Kisumu have left Kenyans mouth agape after doing the unexpected.
This is after what started as peaceful demonstration on Wednesday turned into a comedy and somehow rowdy when protestors stormed World Consumers Rights Day celebrations in Kisumu, an event organised by the Communication Authority.
Initially, they demanded an audience with ICT CS Eliud Owalo who they claimed is being used by the President to destabilise the region.
Upon realizing that the CS was not present in the occasion, they went straight to the catering tent, chased away participants, ate food and broke plates and cups.
CAK boss Ezra Chiloba who officially opened the event together with other leaders flee the scene after it became clear things were going to be a mess.
“Where do these people get this sweet and nice food with these hard economic times.” One demonstrator posed
“You can’t come to Kisumu to celebrate while we are mourning meaning you people are happy this event will not go on,” he shouted.
They later stormed the podium and sat on the panelist chairs as others carried away seats, cameras and even glass tools that were in the VIP section.
