Simon Gakuru Replaced as ANC Party Secretary General
Amani National Congress Party (ANC) leader Issa Timamy has announced its Secretary General Simon Gikuru has left the position.
Timamy has instead announced that Vihiga County MP Beatrice Adagala is the new Secretary-General in an acting capacity.
“Our former Secretary General went for CAS interviews and you are required to resign. So we had Amani Council Bureau meeting in Lamu and resolve to appoint Adagala,” Timamy said.
The change has been occasion by the position Gakuru took of applying for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) which he was shortlisted and interviewed.
Gakuru took over from Barrack Muluka in 2021.
“We had a meeting, with our leaders and we discussed a lot about our party. As SG I’d like to say the party is firm, what was being said is not there,” Adagala said.
Gakuru took to his social pages to congratulate Adagala for her new appointment.
“I take this early opportunity to congratulate Adagala for her appointment as the Acting SG, as your predecessor is assured of my full support and smooth transition,” Gikuru said.
