Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo has escaped serious injury after his vehicle was hit from behind in a road accident in Kikuyu, Kiambu County, on Monday night.
The accident happened at around 8pm on September 28, 2026, as Gisairo and his team were travelling to Nairobi from his Kitutu Masaba constituency.
Gisairo confirmed the incident on Tuesday, saying he was in stable condition but experienced muscle pulls following the impact.
According to the MP, his vehicle was struck from behind by an Isuzu D-Max that he described as speeding. The vehicle, registration number KDX 961T, is registered to Isuzu Kenya and leased to the Ministry of Interior.
What happened in the accident?
Gisairo said the force of the collision caused the Isuzu D-Max to lose control and roll onto the roadside.
His driver, meanwhile, managed to bring their vehicle to a stop despite the crash damaging the rear right tyre.
The MP said he and members of his team then helped the two occupants of the other vehicle following the collision.
The two individuals were later taken away from the scene in a government vehicle after traffic police arrived.
Investigations launched
Gisairo said the Kikuyu road accident has been reported to the relevant authorities and that investigations are ongoing.
He also said the Ministry of Interior had identified the two people who were travelling in the other vehicle, as well as government officers who allegedly transported them away from the accident scene.
The Kitutu Masaba MP said he expects the authorities to establish what happened and take appropriate disciplinary action against any officers found culpable.
He thanked members of the public and his supporters for their messages of concern after news of the accident emerged.
Gisairo’s recent public activities
The accident comes as Gisairo has remained active in political and public mobilisation activities associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement.
The Kitutu Masaba MP has taken part in several public activities, including a rally held in Kisii County in July.
Investigations into the September 28 accident are continuing.
