Renowned one stop shop China Square, has resumed operations after a mutual agreement between Kenyan Government and Chinese traders.

A statement by Kenya Chinese Chamber of Commerce  on March 6m,  announced their back to operation adding that they look forward to a fair treatment.

“We welcome the good news on the resumption of operations of China Square. This follows several engagements between the Kenya Government and the Chinese Community in Kenya to reach an amicable solution to the stalemate.”

They have also pledged to aid the growth of Kenya’s economy through paying tax and creating employment opportunities.

The one stop shop which was opened on January 29, attracting numerous customers due to its  affordable clothes, electronics, and household items, was closed indefinitely last month.

Small-scale traders also recently held protests in the Nairobi Central Business District claiming that the Chinese has taken over the market and were setting an unhealthy competition.
