Meet The World’s Oldest Hen To Ever Have Lived

An hen in Michigan, USA referred to as PEANUT is now officially the world’s longest living Chicken on Earth.

 

According to its owner, the hen was born in 2002 which makes it 20 years and 304 days as of March 2023.

 

Marsmi Darwin who’s the owner further says that the hen is bantam breed type of chicken.

 

He also alleges that before hatching, the mother left the nest with other chicks leaving it unhatched.

 

 

When she found out of the left egg at the nest, she decided to throw it away only for her to hear it cheep.

 

 

She further narrates that as she tried to reintroduce the new chick to its mother, it refused to take care of it leaving the care to Marsi.

 

 

Marsi also revealed that Peanut, laid eggs until she was eight years old, which is a year or two longer than an average layer.

 

 

According to the Guinness world records, before peanut the ever lived longest chicken was Red Quill Muffed American Game from the US which lived from 1989 to 2012.
