Muthaiga Golf Club To Host 54th Edition of the Kenya Open Golf

The Cabinet Secretary for Youth affairs, The Arts and Sport Hon Ababu-Terrah on Monday evening officially launched the 54th edition of the Kenya Open Golf set to take place between March, 9th -12th , 2023 at the Muthaiga golf course.
This is would be the second year running that the tournament will be hosted at Muthaiga Golf Club
“The hosting of this event is a clear demonstration to the confidence the organizers of the DP world tour have in our beautiful country and its ability to host an event of such degree. This is also a confirmation of their confidence in our golf courses and architectural set-up that meet the pre-requisite of international standards,” said Namwamba.
The Kenya Open Golf follows the successful Kenya Ladies Open at Vipingo Ridge Golf Resort in January in Kilifi County.
“We are keen to elevate the ladies’ events to create equal opportunities for both men and women who are our compatriots and continue to showcase their prowess,” said the CS. this tournament continues to confirm that Kenya is in-fact home to golfing tournaments,” he added.
Kenya will be represented by 8 professionals and 6 amateur golfers this year at the Magical Kenya Open. Namwamba expressed his satisfaction with the involvement of junior golfers in their bid to become Kenya’s future professional golfers through the golf clinics with the Pros.
The CS was accompanied by Sports PS Hon. Jonathan Mueke who called on the golf federations to design more golf clinics for junior golfers to build valuable experience.
