Drama As Family Take Body Of Kin In front Of Debtor’s shop
It was a moment of drama and shock in Bondeni Estate in Nakuru, after a family of the late Richard Ogendi ,60, who died two weeks ago abandoned the body at a premise of a debtor identified as Baba Martin
According to a family member, they reported the matter, but no action was taken against the debtor who owed the late roughly Ksh. 250,000 out of Ksh. 400,000
“Tumehangaika ya kutosha sisi, tulienda polisi tunaandika tunaambiwa kesho hadi Leo marehemu anadai haki yake. Mimi ninasema marehemu asitoke hapo bila haki yake,”one of the family members said.
“Kama baba Martin ni mtu mzuri atokelezee atuambie vile tutalipa hiyo pesa ya uncle yetu. So tunataka log book na pesa ikipatikana tunaendelea na mazishi,” another relative noted.
A police officer however advised them to either bury their kin or return the body to the mortuary.
“Tunawadvise warudishe mwili mortuary ama waende nayo wazike na kama hawatarudisha sisi tutachukua mwili kama polisi turudishe mortuary kwa sababu hatutaki wananchi wawe na hofu.”
The debtor is said to have taken to his heels when he saw the coffin approaching.
