Who Attacked Robert Alai and Why?
Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai was reportedly attacked in an hotel in Kisumu County.
According to a police report, Alai was attacked by a former Kisumu MCA Jackton Ogendo, who is said to have arrived at the hotel at around 9pm and went to the location where Alai was sitting attacking him on the head.
The Kileleshwa MCA sustained a slight head cut following the encounter and was treated at a local hospital before recording a statement with the police.
The motive of the attack is yet to be established although witnesses say the former MCA was angered by a tweet made by Alai sometimes late last year touching on his family.
“The fight was intense and it took the intervention of the hotel security guards to separate them,” a source who witnessed the scene recounted.
Kisumu County Commissioner Josephine Ouko says investigations are on and the former Kisumu MCA will record a statement with the police soon before any further step is taken.
