Show Postponed As Rains Destroy Jose Chameleon’s Concert Stage

Jose Chameleone speaking to the press after postponing his concert
Music fans of legendary Ugandan artist Jose Chameleone were left stranded this afternoon (Friday, 10th February) after the show they had been awaiting for months was canceled.
The Leone Island boss spoke before journalists confirming the cancellation of the much anticipated ‘Gwanga Mujje’ concert.
“First I would like to apologize to my fans for what happened because I had no control over it. I have extensively rehearsed and you saw the pictures of the stage. I’m still alive and so strong. That is what makes me unique from the rest of the artists,” Chameleone said amidst cheers from fans.
He further advised his fans to keep their tickets because the show had been postponed to 24th February and it will be bigger and better.
“Keep your tickets. What the devil has caused today, I’m going to overpower him. I will plead with authorities to extend the time for the show.”
As it is the norm for concerts in Uganda, revelers always flock to the venue earlier to get comfortable spots to watch their artists perform. It was no different for Jose Chameleon’s fans who had already lined up at the gates of Lugogo Cricket Oval to enjoy the breathtaking experience.
Just a few hours to the show, Kampala received heavy rains that saw the stage crumble and tents flying. The stage had been erected by renowned event planners, Fenon Records.
While fellow artists like Nince Henry, Bebe Cool and the rest have shown their support, artists like Gravity Omutujju have thrown their jabs mocking the ‘Tubonge’ singer.
His subsidiary shows in districts outside Kampala will go on as advertised.
