It’s System Go For Africa Media Festival Conference In Nairobi

The much awaited Africa Media festival Conference will  now take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill in Nairobi, Kenya from the 14th-15th February 2023.

The Africa Media Festival is a premier event that brings together media professionals and enthusiasts from across the continent to celebrate the power and diversity of African storytelling. This festival is one of the biggest of its kind in Africa and offers an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to gain inspiration from industry leaders, discover new trends and technologies, and network with other media professionals.

According to Mourice Otieno, the Executive Director of Baraza Media Lab, all seasoned and  newbies Journalists are invited to the conference.

”We invite media players from across different media spaces, journalists, photographers, podcasters, authors, illustrators to join us and address cultural, social, political and economic issues around contemporary issues affecting Africa. The festival will offer participants an opportunity to exchange ideas, strategies and discuss innovation in journalism, education and business across a range of sectors including print, broadcasting, entertainment, music, technology and film” said Otieno

In this year’s event, which aims to  bringing together the media community from across the continent to deliberate on the current and future of the African media landscape, has been themed “Reimagine Media” .

Great media scholars from South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, and Sierra Leone have been lined up to speak during the festival. Among them are Eliud Owalo, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and the Digital Economy, Media Council Of Kenya CEO David Omwoyo, Hopewell Chin’ono, Journalist and Documentary Film Maker from Uganda, Alice Munyua, Sr. Director of Africa Innovation Mradi, Mozilla and Abdul Noor Mohamed, VP Africa Luminate.

 

The festival is proudly powered by Baraza Media Lab and other  partners such the Continent News, PRX, Luminate, Paukwa, Ford Foundation, Mozilla, Nation Media Group, Africa Innovation Mradi and TurnUp Travel.
