Security Officers Hunting For A Female Drug Trafficker In Mombasa
Security agencies in Mombasa have launched a manhunt for a suspected female drug trafficker who escaped a police dragnet in Mlaleo, Nyali sub-county.
The woman is said to be a notorious bhang peddler in Nyali.
Security agencies led by Nyali deputy county commissioner Rose Chege said the woman sold the illicit substance in her rented house in Mlaleo.
“We have conducted a raid in Nyali to get rid of illicit brew and drugs. However, during the operation in Nyali, a notorious peddler escaped our dragnet. However, we found some bhang with a street value of Ksh. 30,000 in her house,” said the deputy county commissioner.
She urged the woman to surrender before the long arms of the government catch up with her.
“She has been selling drugs to our youths eroding them of their future. Sadly, women who are supposed to be taking care of children are behind their waywardness,” added Ms Chege.
She also urged Nyali residents to collaborate with security agencies to get rid of the illicit substances.
During the raid, police arrested five suspects and nabbed 13 gambling machines.
Ms Chege said the ongoing operation has been fruitful after pouring thousands of liters of illicit brew including chang’aa and mkunugu.
