FRANCE: Man Loses Testicle In A Street Protest
A French engineer has lost one testicle after being clubbed by a police in Paris, during a pension street protest.
A 26- year- old engineer was clubbed by a police at the groin on Thursday which has led to the amputation of his testicle.
Through his lawyer Lucie Simon, the engineer is filing a lawsuit to sue the Paris police officer officer over brutal harm meted on him.
On a protest done by the French netizens over pension ages, the french government had planned to increase the age of retirement from 62 to 64.
As the interior ministry for security in France reports, 80,000 people marched in Paris on Thursday, as part of nationwide protests against the age plan increment by president Emmanuel Macron’s government.
Ivan S, was taking taking pictures between protestors and police during a protest until one police camped at him and rested a club at his groin.
However, Ivan’s lawyer Lucie Simon has said she’s filing a lawsuit and ensure her client gets justice and the police remanded in custody.
In a video clip shared on social media, the police are seen surrounding a young man who’s on the floor and being beaten.
“It was such a strong blow that he had to have a testicle amputated,” she says adding that the engineer is still in hospital.
“This is not a case of defense or necessity. The proof is in the images we have and the fact that he was then not arrested” she adds.
The Paris Police department on the other hand, has said it’s under internal investigation to get the officer who assaulted the engineer.
Moreover, it says the police during a protest were on the mission of arresting violent protestors and not clubbing.
The government spokesperson, Olivier Veran on his side has told the BFMTV broadcaster that he has felt sorry for the engineer and there’s a need to dig in and unearth to know how the incident occurred.
