Nyanza Leaders Warmly Welcome President Ruto
President William Ruto landed in Homa Bay county yesterday afternoon to mark the beginning of his two day tour of the Luo Nyanza counties.
The Head of State who is accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua on touching down at the Homabay Airstrip, received an heroic welcome from leaders both in the opposition camp and ruling party as well as area residents.
The President presided over the groundbreaking of the first phase of the Homabay Affordable Housing Program and commissioning of the Homa Bay Town Municipal Market.
Later, he made his way to Kisumu City where he was immensely welcomed by leaders and area residents. He met with leaders requesting for a cordial working relationship for the benefit of Kisumu citizens.
Today, marking the second day of his Luo Nyanza tour, the President in the company of his deputy received an equal warm welcome from Siaya leaders led by Governor James Orengo.
Here, the President is set to commission the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) Research Hub.
This warm reception is contrary to what was earlier witnessed when he made his first tour in Homabay after ascending to power where all leaders including the Governor were not around to welcome him.
