Bahati Bukuku: Don’t Ask Me Questions About Single Mothers If You Haven’t Been Married

Bahati Bukuku says that single mothers shouldn't be criticised for not being in marriage/ courtesy.
Bahati Bukuku, a legendary Tanzania gospel artiste slammed a journalist after she was asked about her choice to be a single mother.
In an exclusive interview on The Spirit Show, the singer stated that no woman who is a single mother woke up and decided to be a single mother.
Bahati Bukuku explained that some women were assaulted and mistreated in their marriages and decided to leave and start a new life.

“Kama hujaolewa usiniulize swali kama hilo mwanangu. Hakuna Mwanamke alipenda asikae kwenye ndoa yake. Ni kichaa pekee ambaye labda anaweza akawa na tatizo hilo lakini kila mwanamke unayemwona akiitwa single mama, alikuwa na ndoto na ndoa yake.” Bukuku said.
Bukuku added that the only woman who ends up as a single mother is insane but it rarely happens. In her statement, domestic violence and infidelity have made many women single mothers.
“Ushawahi kusikia wanawake waliochinjwa au kufanyiwa ukatili? Ushawahi kumwona Mwanamke akiambiwa shuka kitandani nilale na Mwanamke mwingine halafu wewe kalale na watoto?” She posed.

The Dunia Haina Huruma hitmaker advised young women in marriage and those who have yet to get married to respect single mothers. She explained that they had endured much pain in their relationships.
“Kama wewe ni binti na hujawahi kupitia hapo, usiwadharau single mothers kwa sababu huo upepo utakufwata. Utakula matapishi uliyoyaongea.” She advised.
“Kuna wanawake wameolewa lakini wanaume hawajawahi kuacha hata hela ya chai. Mtoto mpaka anaingia Chuo Kikuu lakini hajui.” She added.
The singer and her husband Daniel Basila split legally 6 years ago and she has been living as a single mother, gospel minister and preacher.
