Jakes Nyanjom Rubbishes Claims His Mom Joyce Gituro Helped Him Get Media Job

Jakes Nyanjom, a rising radio journalist, has rubbished reports alleging his mother, Joyce Gituro, helped him get a media job at Homeboyz Radio.

In an exclusive talk with Esther Alex, the radio journalist explained that it was through his hardwork that he got a job at Radio Africa.

Jakes Nyanjom emphasized that he was not helped by his mother, Joyce Gituro, to get a job at a younger age. He explained that although his mother is a revered journalist, he had to work on his own.

“My mom didn’t have a hand in me getting a job in the media industry, also it pisses me off when people talk ill about my mum (Joyce Gituro) and the respect she has for the media industry.” Jakes shared.

The 20-year-old journalist doubling as a student at Daystar University also shared moments that may hurt him. He said that when a person attacks his family member or his lover, he may be emotionally unstable.

“If you touch my family negatively, that will trigger my emotions because of the rich depth of field experience and history we’ve had with them and the person that I love- the relationship that I’m trying to build.” He added.

However, the Evening Drive host said he misses the night show where he used to talk about relationship matters without a struggle. He explained that the show made him gain more experience and confidence in his media career.

Despite some negative comments from a section of social media users, he asserted that he was never bothered since, at the end of the month, he was pocketing his hard-earned money.

“People will always talk. They have the freedom of thought, mind and speech. A person may tell you whatever he/she wishes.” He stated.
