A man in India caused a buzz online after he came back to life before cremation. Rohitash, 45 was reported dead by a local hospital’s medical practitioners last Thursday in Jhunjhunu City, Rajasthan in India.

It is reported the man was residing near the hospital and when he fell ill, he was taken to the hospital for medication but when he arrived there, he showed no signs of life and the doctors took him to the mortuary.

Rohitash, a deaf and mute orphan, the Daily Mail reports that the doctors did not carry out postmortem tests to examine the cause of his death.

However, when he was taken to the hospital, he looked very emaciated, ‘lifeless’ and the doctors quickly concluded he was dead.

It is also reported that after the man was ‘declared dead,’ he was taken to the mortuary where he spent three hours in the freezer.

The local police reported that after he spent hours in the cold morgue, the doctors signed papers for his cremation before they discovered he was still breathing.

However, Jhunjhunu Police Superintendent Sharad Chouodhary said that when Rohitash ‘lifeless’ body was placed in the pyre set for cremation, he showed signs of being alive.

The man did not have any relatives present when he initially arrived at the hospital. His condition worsened and there were no signs of life. The doctors were supposed to do a post-mortem examination but they did not do anything.

“They just fulfilled the paper formalities and sent the man for cremation. When the body was placed on the pyre, he woke up,’ Chouodhary said.

The Police Superintended added that Rohitash was taken back to the hospital as the doctors who erred in declaring the deaf man dead, were suspended.
