Khaligraph Jones's statement in which Vato claimed it was a sign of disrespect to Tanzania artists, he argued that as a Tanzania rapper, he had every right to defend his country from shame.

Fido Vato, a Tanzanian rapper, has stated that no one understands Khaligraph Jones’s English rap. In an exclusive interview with a digital journalist in Tanzania, Vato noted that Khaligraph should rap in Kiswahili.

“Nani husikizwa sana hapa Tanzania? Siyo wengi wanamfahamu Khaligraph. Ushawahi sikia ana Show Tanzania? Hamna!” rapper Vato stated in an interview.

“Ana-rap ma English haieleweki. Nani anataka ma English? Tunataka Kiswahili. Do you know how to rap in Kiswahili? He thinks he’s international but he’s not. Khaligraph ni huko Kenya,” he added.

Vato’s statement comes after a long beef that happened in October 2023 when  Khaligraph dissed Tanzania Hip-hop artists noting they needed to revive their genre because it was long dead.

“TZ R*p was dead except for Lunya, Mex and a few others. The rest are doing amapiano, record diss tracks before attack everyone na msnijibu na amapiano, 24 hrs kama mnajiamini, failure to which I will come and launch an attack and I will take over the whole Tanzanian r*p industry and I will be the best rapper in Tanzania just like I am in Kenya and Nigeria ” Khaligraph wrote.

Following Khaligraph Jones’s statement, Vato claimed it was a sign of disrespect to Tanzania artists. He argued that as a Tanzania rapper, he had every right to defend his country from shame.
