Digital Content Creator Tom Daktari has said Kenyan comedians are more respected compared to musicians.

In a recent exclusive interview with One Tanzania media, Tom Daktari said unlike Tanzania where musicians are accorded much respect, in Kenya, musicians are less respected.

According to Tom Daktari, Kenyans love comedians because comedy has existed for many years and is done in unique ways compared to music.

He added that in Kenya, many people love jokes and laughter compared to Tanzania where the wheel power reigns in music industry as the main source of entertainment and hustle.

“Comedy ya Kenya imezeeka zeeka kidogo. Ilikuwepo kwa mfano wa Churchil Show yenye iliinua comedians wengi sana. Na hivyo, comedians wameheshimika sana.

“Kwa hiyo heshima, inakuwa kwamba comedians na wanamziki, comedians wanaheshimika sana na pia hawapatikani sana. Kutokana na hilo, wakifanya show, ni rahisi comedian kujaza ukumbi haraka na ni kitu cha kawaida.” Tom Daktari added.

Although his content is loved by many on social media especially TikTok, he said that he has never known how TikTok pays as many alleges. According to him, he shares his content on TikTok for fan.

“TikTok huwa nafanya for fun. Sijawahi kufuatilia kujua kama inalipa. Husikia tu watu wakienda live na ku tap tap lion ikiingia lakini sijui ni  nini.” He said.
