Matete's husband Beloved John Apewajoye, succumbed to injuries caused by gas explosion

Gospel artist and Pastor Ruth Matete has announced that she has been acquitted of murder charges involving her late husband.

As she made her first online appearance this year with a post after a very long time, Matete revealed that it is over and she is a free woman. Through her socials, she stated that on 25th April 2024 the charges were dropped.

A few days ago, the court case that had been hanging over my head, was finally closed. The hearing was on 25th April 2024, and I was declared free. The case is over.The file is closed. To the glory of God! I got back the gas cylinder and the three phones,” she wrote.

The minister shared the emotional sequel the accusations made in her life. Additionally, she went ahead and cleared her name saying she will continue serving God affirming she doesn’t not look like what she had been through.

“I got married. My husband died 4 months after our wedding.I was accused of killing him. The news circulated like wild fire. Bloggers said the same thing. All they needed to do was to change the topic of their story so they could own it. It is over, it is over. This is my testimony,” she added.

Matete’s husband Beloved John Apewajoye, succumbed to injuries caused by gas explosion on 30th March, 2020 at their home in Syokimau. The accident turned Matete’s life upside-down leading to series of changes. She was barred from burying her husband who they were married for only 4 months until 3 months later.

Moreover, her 3 phones were confiscated and two gas which were given back after being cleared from the murder charges. She was subjected to cyberbullying despite being pregnant at that time but 4 years later she has been freed.

It is speculated that the former Tusker Project Fame winner might have been abroad after sharing video of her enjoying the winters eason.
