Kenyan comedian David Oyando popularly Mulamwah has said when growing up, he used to eat Mapera and Dodo as his lunch and supper.
Recounting the old days of growing up in a humble background on Ruth K’s YouTube channel, Mulamwah revealed that his upbringing was never as easy as many may think.
He alleged that before he made it in life, his grandmother used to prepare for him traditional vegetables as supper and on other days, eat porridge as the main meal before going to sleep.

When going to school in the morning, he could eat Avocado or go to school empty stomach until lunch when he would come and even take guavas or mangoes.
“Nilikuwa nakula mapera lunch. Kuna days ilikuwa natoka shule naenda lunch home na kwa meko napata kuku amelala hapo kwa jivu hadi amechokora. Nikiona tu hiyo dalili, ilikuwa najua tu hakuna kitu.” He recounted.
Mulamwah added that besides guavas, on other days his grandmother could direct him over the trees of avocados to pick some ripe ones and take them as lunch before he could return to school.

” Shosh siku nyingine ilikuwa unampata amekaa kama mtu anadondoa mboga za kienyeji. Sasa ukifika tu hivi ana-point tu juu ya mtu wa Avocado upande uchune ukule na urudi shule.” Mulamwah added.
Following his bitter upbringing from a humble background, he said that daily, he works so hard so that his son Kalamwah never comes to say he was brought up in a humble background.
“Nikisikia mahali Kalamwah akisema alitoka from a humble background, hiyo ni uongo bwana. Atakuwa anadanganya. Asiwahi jaribu hiyo. Tutakosana.” Mulamwah said.

The comedian was brought up in Tranzoia County, Kitale and pursued his degree at Moi University School of Medicine where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Currently, he’s a social media influencer and radio infotainer at Milele FM. Recently, he stormed the internet with his bungalow and a new Mercedes Benz.
