On the chat with SPM Buzz, the media personality shared her thoughts on what makes a marriage work. She mentioned that her advice might not suit everyone. Lulu stressed the importance of being friends with your spouse, saying it helps build love and respect in the relationship.

“Ndio nakuambia wale watu wawili wanafungua ndoa si marafiki. if you are my friend na ninakusheshimu, kuna vitu huwezi fanya mimi nihisi kudhalilishwa kule nje. In such marriages, there’s no love, respect, or friendship,” she said.

“But what works for me might not work for you… Marriage haina manual. Usiseme unataka kucopy some one-two from Lulu utakosea. Jinsi Rashid alivyo kwangu si vile mume wako atakuwa kwako,” she said.

The anchor from Citizen TV also recommended being transparent about finances. She mentioned that both she and her husband, Rashid, are aware of each other’s earnings, highlighting that such openness is crucial for promoting responsible financial management and preventing misuse of funds.

“Inategemea na yule mtu amekuoa, na yule mtu umeolewa naye. As for me, anajua how much I earn and I also know how much he earns… Ni vizuri kujua kwa sababu mwanzo ntajua pesa zako unazitumiaje na that means huwezu tumia pesa zako vibaya ama kuzitumia kule nje na watu wengine,” she said.

Although Lulu emphasized the importance of financial transparency, she recommended against sharing accounts, noting that unless it was an account for their children, there was no reason to do so.

“Kushare account I don’t advocate for that. Si poa. Why should we share accounts na kila mtu anafanya kazi yake? Labda ya watoto,” she advised.
