Zaila had to sleep with doctors as a self-sacrifice to save the life of her ailing mother.

While seeking medication for her mother, Zaila disclosed that doctors were reluctant to treat her because she had no money to lure them.

Whenever she could enquire the reason behind their failure to work on her mother’s treatment, she said most doctors in Dar-es-laam took her behind corners to book an “appointment” with them.

The appointment which she had to book was not for financial issues or treatment plans but they took advantage of her vulnerability in exchange for beauty to sleep with her so that they could treat her mother.

“Doctors could give me an appointment and take advantage and threaten me that if I ever tell anyone what they did to me, then my mother would never be treated.” She said.

According to Zaila, she was the sole breadwinner in her family and her hustle was a hand-to-mouth job.

That made her struggle between feeding her child and seeking medication for her ailing mother who stayed in the hospital sickbed for many months.

In what she thought was a single habit, she ended up sleeping 14 doctors to save the life of her ailing mother.

However, she never told her mother what she was going through to save her life because her health status could have worsened.

“Due to her condition, I thought telling her what I did to save her life would have made her health situation far worse than we could imagine. So, I kept that to myself. My silence was my sacrifice” she added.
