Millions AFC Leopards Received From President Ruto For Their 60th Anniversary

AFC Leopards received the whooping amount from President Ruto as token for their 60th Anniversary

FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards marks 60 years since the club was started back in 1964. Today, they had a courtesy call with a special invitation by President William Ruto at the State House in Nairobi.

The meeting at State House was attended by the club’s leaders and fans officials from different branches. The President extended his generous hand towards the club’s 60th year anniversary celebrations as he donated Ksh. 10,000,000 to help boost the club’s development plans as well as the growth.

President Ruto’s address on his social media platforms immediately after the meeting, noted how AFC Leopards has been vital for its immense contribution to the nurturing of young talents as well as growth of Kenyan football and also sports development in general.

“I am excited by the progress we are making in transforming sports into a mega industry, as part of our BETA agenda of expanding opportunities for the youth of Kenya. Monetizing talents and commercializing the institutions responsible is a key cog in this wheel of transformation,” President Ruto wrote.

“We fully support these progressive plans and invite other football clubs to follow suit by taking advantage of the transformative agenda my administration is rolling out through our Talanta Hela flagship initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports.” he concluded.

The meeting was chaired by President William Ruto together with Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Ababu Namwamba, attended by AFC Leopards patron Alexander Muteshi, Ingwe at 60 Committee chairman Elder Vincent Shimoli, National Executive Committee members, and the club’s secretariat among others.

Ingwe at 60 celebrations kicked off on Tuesday 12th March with the club officials as well as players visiting several children homes and also doing community work to mark their 60th anniversary. The celebrations will be running all the way to 24th March when the club will play a friendly match against Spanish club 𝗔𝗘 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮 from Barcelona, Spain at Nyayo national Stadium.
