Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Judith Nyambura, widely known as Avril, surprised her fans by sharing a rare glimpse of her son on social media in the past few hours.
In an unusual move for the usually private artist, Avril posted a heartwarming photo where she and her son were captured sitting together on a comfortable couch, both beaming with smiles.

Despite Avril’s attempt to shield her son’s face with a love emoticon, it was evident that the young one shares his mother’s light skin complexion.
This isn’t the first time Avril has chosen to keep her son’s identity under wraps. The singer has consistently maintained a high level of privacy regarding her son, refraining from disclosing his name since his birth.
Back in 2020, during an Instagram live session, Avril opened up about her decision, expressing a strong desire to allow her son autonomy over his life. She stated that when he turns 18, he should have the freedom to decide whether he wants to step into the limelight or not.

“I want him to have his own life. When he gets to the right age, 18 years old, then he can make the decision on whether he wants to be in the limelight or not” Avril said then.
Avril emphasized that her choice to keep her son away from social media shouldn’t be misinterpreted as criticism toward parents who choose a different path.
Rather, she sees it as a commitment to her son’s right to privacy and the ability to make his own choices. Despite occasional glimpses like the recent photo, Avril remains steadfast in her commitment to respecting her son’s privacy.
Avril and renowned Kenyan cinematographer J Blessing are the parents of the handsome boy, with whom she is currently in a relationship. Despite their public profiles, the couple has managed to keep their son’s details, including his name, away from the public eye.
