Wife From Heaven: How Ezekiel Otuoma’s Wife Has Been There For Him Despite Being Paralyzed
The former AFC Leopards, Ulinzi Stars, Sony Sugar and Western Stima midfielder Ezekiel Otuoma is one blessed man for having a rare to find wife who stood by his side despite his health conditions.
In 2020, Ezekiel Otuoma was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND), also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The disease occurs when specialist nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord called motor neurones stop working properly.
The condition changed his life completely. The club he was playing for abandoned him by giving him the release letter after he suffered the condition.
In an interview with one news outlet Otuoma’s wife Rachael Otuoma narrated how his husband’s health deteriorated in November 2020, “It started on its own, his speech started disappearing and we took him to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) then took him to Aga Khan hospital where he was diagnosed with the motor neuron disease.”

Rachael Otuoma, revealed how one of the Kenyan betting firm, funded them where he was taken to India for further treatment for the condition. However, when he came back from India, he worsened because the family could not afford the treatment he got in India.
Otuoma’s body weakened to an extent he couldn’t eat, walk or bath by himself, Rachael Otuoma said, “He can’t eat, walk, or bathe he is like a child you have to take care of him.” She also decided to take him for prayers at Pastor Ezekiel’s church in Mavueni in an effort to get him healed but that did not work.

However, their story changed with Rachael Otuoma’s huge fanbase on TikTok helped the couple build a decent house which was actualized in September last year. She took to her Facebook page to share the good news.
In October she also shared to have bought a new car that will facilitate their easy movement when going for Ezekiel’s weekly checkup and their daily businesses. Despite Otuoma’s health challenges, his wife Rachael Otuoma sticked by him throughout the hardships with her always sharing photos showering him with love.
