Viral Internet Slogan That Can Get You In Trouble With Police

The Nigerian Police Force has issued a sting warning against the use of the new viral internet slogan “No Gree For Anybody”, loosely translated to English to mean ‘No agreeing with anybody’.

At the beginning of the year, the slogan gained widespread popularity, especially among the youth on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Its origin is still unclear but many use it as a way of staying true to oneself, rejecting bullies and not tolerating any kind of nonsense.

Despite it going viral, the police through its spokesperson Adejobi Muyiwa have banned netizens from using the mantra, saying that it incites violence.

“We have been informed by our Intelligence team that this slogan is coming from a revolutionary sector that may likely cause problems across the country,” he said.

This happened during the security briefing held in Abuja and Adejobi explained to the press that although it was seen as ‘normal talk’, it is possible for the entire country to plunge into crisis because of the statement.

“It has been seen as a normal talk but as a security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous that can trigger a crisis.” He concluded.
