Panga-Wielding Mentally Ill Man Brutally Attacks Security Guard

Police in Kawempe are investigating circumstances under which a sex worker was stabbed to death at Okatho Inn Guest House located in Lufura zone Kawempe division, Kampala district.

 

The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Esther Nakagwa and the suspect that committed the gruesome murder is said to be on the run according to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango.

 

The dead body was discovered over the weekend, at around 8 AM when one of the guesthouse workers who was moving around inspecting the rooms noticed a pool of blood that had flown through the door of room four.

The body was lying partly under the bed dressed in white Patra shorts and a red blouse soaked in blood.

 

Police visited the area and thoroughly examined and documented the crime scene, plus recording statements from the witnesses.

 

Among the exhibits recovered from the scene included a box of condoms, the murder weapon (a knife) with suspected blood stain, a used condom, a bottle of water, and beer among others.

 

“The recovered exhibit at the scene plus suspected blood stains are to be submitted to the forensics laboratory for analysis,” Onyango said.

 

According to eyewitnesses, the deceased came to rent the premises on 27th October 2023 while doing her sex work business.

 

Seven Suspects were taken into custody at Kawempe Police Station including the manager and workers of the guest house, to help in the investigations.

 

The body was conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for post-mortem.

President Museveni during his end-of-year message warned Ugandans to always be on the lookout for anyone who always approaches them without a national ID.

 

“The ADF is now sending their people to kill our bazukulu (grandchildren) involved in prostitution in the ghettos where we don’t have cameras.” He said.

 

“All the bazukulu should be alert. Don’t involve yourself with anyone who doesn’t have an electronic identity card. Do not accept ID cards printed at Nkurumah Road [in Kampala]. If you see anything suspicious, please call the police.” He added.
