100M for the kids for Christmas! Wizkid announced
Afrobeat songster has received praises on social media after being spotted giving out money to devastated children for Christmas.
Wizkid on Monday morning, shared on his Instagram stories his plan to give out 100 M Naira(Ksh 19M) to children in different parts of Nigeria to celebrate Christmas.
On his Instagram story, he wrote: “100M for the kids for Christmas! 😇 Lord bless us all. Start in Surulere tonight “

On X formerly Twitter, fans shared videos of Wizkid and his bouncers walking around Surulere and Makoko in Lagos giving out money for children to celebrate Christmas.
Real name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, despite his plan to give out the chunks of money to children, a section of Nigerians on social media have preferred him to seen him building schools for them.
They claim Christmas gifts will not last and also he won’t be remembered for his charity actions but hence many children live in poverty and illiteracy, schools or hospitals could have been better.

One X user by name Daniel Regha took to his profile and criticized Wizkid’s money as a misplaced priority.
“Wizkid promising to gift children a N100m for Christmas is a misplaced priority, since he’s yet to fulfil his old pledge of building schools across Africa.”
” If he wishes to celebrate with kids this festive season that’s OK, but not with a N100m. That money should be channeled into a long-term project, like building a free school to give education to poor children. No offense.” Regha wrote.

On Instagram stories before going out to give money, Wizkid shared a separate post saying his move to give out 100M Naira( Ksh 19M) is a celebration of his mother who died recently.
