Kalenjin groom whose wedding got cancelled has opened up by revealing what led to the cancelation.
Amos Rono was set to marry a 23- year – old Nelly Chepkoech on 9th Dec 2023 but the wedding was prematurely cancelled before the date.
Screengrabs shared on social media, claimed Nelly cancelled her wedding a day before the awaited day to be given space.

However, in another screengrab, it was revealed that the wedding was cancelled because Nelly’s ex- boyfriend had come back.
Amos Rono who was set to be the groom, has said the wedding was cancelled after Nelly rekindling her love with ex-boyfriend.
“Bibi harusi ambaye alisema ya kwamba Ako na mtu mwingine mahali na mwenye hakuwa amesema hapo awali. Hiyo harusi haikufanyika kwa sababu ya hayo maneno” heartbroken Amos said.

Mr Rono further said despite the cancellation of the wedding, he won’t accept her in case she comes back even though she’s forgiven.
“Nimemwacha yeye aende afuzu maishani mwake upande ule mwingine ama atafute bwana mwingine kiroho safi kwa sababu hata kama alikuwa amesema bila kujua, namsamehe yeye ” he opened up.
” Sikuwa na roho mbaya tangu tuanze na yeye. She was to become my wife na baba yake alikuwa ako na shughuli kuona ya kwamba hii harusi inatimia. Nampongeza babake” he added.

Amos’s mother Sara Nyigei on her side said she won’t accept Nelly in her family even if she dare to come back because she already made up her mind.
“Msichana alisema apatiwe nafasi na yeye bado ni mdogo hajafikiria kukuwa bibi so hakuwa ready ready. Sasa, sitakubali tena yeye akuje kwetu kwa vile amesema bado ni mdogo na kanisa ilikuwa na furaha kumlaki yeye” she vowed.
Prior to Amos’s talk, Nelly alleged that her long awaited wedding was cancelled by the clergy over the delay of her identity card and other documents necessary for wedding procession.

Following the delay, she added that the reverend promised to call them (Nelly and Amos) later for a talk before the wedding continues.
According to Nelly, the reverend postponed the wedding and never cancelled it as it was previously reported.
