Girona Set History After Defeating Barcelona At Camp Nou!

Spanish side club Girona which plays in La Liga had a weekend to remember after getting an historical win against La Liga reigning champions Barcelona.

Girona gained a promotion to La Liga in 2022 after winning the Segunda Division play-offs, where they finished at 10^th position in 2022/23 season accumulating a total of 49 points.

Girona started off the 2023/24 season with good run of results as they have only lost one La Liga match so far this season against Real Madrid on September 30^th, drawn twice and won 13 games in 16 matches.

The recent and most historical win came over the weekend on their trip to Camp Nou in match week 16 where they defeated Barcelona 4-2 to register their 13^th win of the season and their First Ever win against Barcelona in their history.

Girona are now on top of the La Liga table with 41 points, two points ahead of Real Madrid who are in the second position with 39 points while Atletico Madrid coming in the third position. Defending champions Barcelona are comfortably sitting at position four with 34 points.
