Man Allegedly Kills Wife Over Ksh. 40

Police in Namayingo District are hunting for a 48-year-old resident of Maluba Landing Site who is accused of killing his wife.

The incident happened after Oluli Henderiko had a disagreement with his wife Oluli Suzan over a Ugx. 1000 saucepan she purchased for his brother in law without the consent of her husband.
According to eyewitnesses, Suzan was found unresponsive at their home with Oluli gone after the disagreement.

The Maluba Landing Site LC1 chairperson Ojiambo Steven pointed out the increased cases of domestic violence in his area.
Wilberforce Odwori Egesa, the Chairperson of Buhemba Sub-County, also blamed the many gender based violence cases on excessive alcohol consumption by the youths.
“As a council, we have resolved to put by laws to reduce the time the community should be allowed to start drinking alcohol, and we said that the community will start buzzing at 2 anyone caught before that will be arrested” Egesa told journalists.
