Transgender Socialite Battles Kidney Failure After Liposuction, Appeals for Support

Renowned Nigerian transgender socialite, Daniel Nsikak, widely recognized as Jay Boogie Anthony, is currently battling a serious health condition, facing acute failure of both kidneys.
In a viral video, Jay Boogie reached out to fellow Nigerians, revealing that all of her life savings have been exhausted on medical treatments, urgently seeking financial aid for an urgent kidney transplant.
“31/10/23 my life made a switch, I don’t even know me anymore and I’ve been through struggles battling with acute kidney injury and more. I have had a plasmapheresis yet I’m still unstable. The test results state my health is deteriorating. I honestly need sincere and genuine help.”

Less than a year ago, Jay Boogie underwent Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery as part of her transformation from a man to a woman.
Unfortunately, complications arose from the surgery, stemming from injuries sustained during the liposuction process designed to lift the buttocks.
Speaking about her deteriorating health, Jay Boogie expressed the severity of her pain and emphasized the high cost of the required medical procedures.

She is currently undergoing plasmapheresis, a specialized process aimed at filtering the blood and eliminating harmful antibodies resulting from the complications of the surgery.
This procedure, similar to dialysis, specifically targets the removal of antibodies from the plasma portion of the blood.
Despite facing criticism from some netizens, including actress Sonia Ogiri, who reprimanded Jay Boogie for her choices, others like Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, took a more empathetic stance.
Bobrisky defended Jay Boogie on her Instagram page, saying that no one deserves to face life-threatening consequences for how they choose to live.
