Man Dies In Alcohol Drinking Competition
Revelers were left in shock after one of the residents died in an alcohol drinking challenge in Namisindwa district.
The deceased identified as 24-year-old Welikhe Rober, a renowned drunkard around Sikhendu Village passed on after downing 12 bottles of a Kenyan alcoholic drink dubbed Kakasa Kombucha Drink.
According to the residents, the challenge was put together by one of the biggest local traders in Riverside trading center located in Bukiabi Subcounty.

Koyi Micheal, one of the eyewitnesses stated that the businessman put Ushs. 10,000 to be won by anyone who dared to drink 12 bottles of the alcoholic drink.
Welikhe was one of the challengers and when he reached his 8th bottle, he started losing it. It is said that foam started coming from his mouth and nose, something that scared the onlookers. They rushed him to Lwakhakha Mercy Clinic but he was unfortunately pronounced dead before they could get there.

The LC III chairperson Bukiabi sub county , Soita Nicholas confirmed the incident and revealed that authorities were searching for Wete and everyone else behind the challenge.
The angry residents carried the deceased’s body and dumped it at the businessman’s home.
