Man Allegedly Kills His Newborn Child, Buries It In The Middle Of The Night.
Alex Rafiki Byamugisha, a resident of Katoogo Village, Kakumiro district was arrested by police on reports that he murdered his newborn child and buried it in the middle of the night without anyone’s knowledge.
The village LC1 chairperson, Yoram Kwikiriza confirmed the incident and revealed that the 42 year old alerted him about the sudden death and instead of waiting for neighbors, he went ahead and buried it.
“For the one year and nine months he has been staying in this village, he has been a terrible person. He insults and talks bad about everyone. Even with this, a person can’t lose a child and bury it alone. We are neighbors,” Kwikiriza said.

Locals say they heard the news about the death and rushed to his home to send their condolences but to their surprise, he had buried it alone in the night. This prompted them to suspect that he had killed his own child because by the time of the burial, his wife was still in hospital being treated of the complications she suffered while giving birth.
The suspect on the other hand denied the allegations but pleaded guilty to burying in the night making it clear that he got permission from authorities.

Kwikiriza’s arrest was confirmed by DPC Kakumiro Police station Niyonzima Maurice and said investigations are underway to find out the cause of the baby’s death.
