10 Year Old Mutilated In Suspected Ritual Sacrifice
Police in Mpigi District are still investigating the gruesome murder of a 10-year-old whose body was dumped in a coffee plantation in Bukemba Village, Kayabwe town council.
Gift Grace Nampijna, a primary five pupil at Ben Francis Primary school is believed to have been killed in a ritual sacrifice because her private parts, one breast and her head were chopped off and reported missing.
The deceased’s mother, Namazzi Annet narrated that her daughter got home from school at approximately 5 PM and joined her mother in doing the house chores.
She later joined her friends who were playing at home and at 8 PM, she went to watch TV her aunt’s home who stays in the neighborhood.
When she did not return home by 9 PM, the mother searched for her in vain because she was not at her aunt’s place.
The search party continued and on Wednesday morning, Nampijja’s mutilated torso was discovered in her uncle’s plantation lying in a pool of blood.
Katonga region acting police spokesperson Karim Majid told journalists that they have “intensified the search for the killers and also widened their investigations since the gruesome incident happened Tuesday night.”
He also gave assurances to the family of the victim that they would do everything in their power to see that the culprits are brought to justice.
In a presser, Uganda Police spokesperson SPC Enanga Fred revealed that the hunt for the head of the victim was on and called upon anyone with information regarding the incident to work together with the police.
