Diamond Platnumz Makes U-turn On Diving During Nairobi Performance

Kenyans have shared mixed reactions on Tanzanian sensation artist Diamond Platnumz’s stunt to attempt stage diving during his performance at Oktoba Fest in Kenya.

 

Diamond Platnumz posted a video on his Instagram page of an artist stage diving at a concert in the US and expressed his interest in attempting the same at his upcoming show in Nairobi.

“I want to try and do this at my upcoming Nairobi show,” he said.

Stage diving is when a performer, often a musician or entertainer, leaps from the stage into the audience during a live performance, with the audience catching and supporting them.

An example of an artist with a history of stage diving is American Rapper Travis Scott. Scott stage diving incident in 2021 resulted in injuries to some of his fans.

 

During a performance at the Astroworld Festival in Houston, the rapper’s enthusiastic stage dive led to a crowd surge that caused chaos in the audience.

 

Several fans were injured, and tragically, there were fatalities as well.

 

The incident raised significant concerns about crowd safety and event management at large music festivals.
