Husband Abandons Family Home Over Wife’s Disrespect

Police have recorded a domestic case concerning a married couple where the husband swore never to return home following a disagreement with his wife.
Twongirwe Evangelist, 56 rushed to the station to have the officers convince her 74-year-old husband Kiwanuka George William to come back to their marital home which he had deserted after the fight.
According to Kiwanuka, he made the decision to move out after his wife sent messengers to drive him out. Having insisted on staying, he recounts the day he went back home and found Twongirwe boiled a flask of hot water which he claims was to be poured on him. That is when he made the decision to pack all his belongings and leave their home.

According to Kiwanuka, the couple’s marital problems started when his wife shifted from their bed and opted to sleep on the floor. She followed it with disrespect that saw her insult his manhood.’
“I rather be single and spend the rest of my life alone than go back to that disrespectful woman,” he said.
In her defense, Twongirwe revealed that Kiwanuka was acting out of embarrassment because he failed to fulfil his duties as a man, including paying school fees for their child.

Having failed to convince her husband to move back in, Twongirwe begged him to at least clear half of the fees required for their child’s school.
The district representative handling family matters asked the couple to hold a private discussion on the matter and report back to him.
