Chelsea Confirms Signing Striker Nicolas Jackson
Yesterday, Chelsea announced the signing of Nicolas Jackson from Villareal for €35 million on an eight-year contract.
After an outstanding season in which he scored 12 La Liga goals for Villarreal, Jackson has agreed to an eight-year contract with the Blues. Last season, the 22-year-old scored 13 goals in 38 outings for the La Liga team, including nine in the final eight league contests.
After the £52 million acquisition of France striker Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig, he is the Blues’ second summer acquisition.
Speaking after his unveiling, Jackson said he was happy to play for Chelsea.
“When Chelsea came, there was no question in my mind. I always had this kind of team in mind. I talked to my family and my agent, and I have icons who played here: Drogba and Ba, big strikers. So when Chelsea came, my heart said the answer should be yes, and I decided to follow it and come here.” He said.
Chelsea have been very busy in the transfer window this season.
