Akothee Slams Government Over Proposed Taxes
Popular musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee has criticized the Government over proposed increased taxes.
In a video, the mother of five can be seen holding a glass of beer but insists she has borrowed it.
The disclaimer, according to Akothee is meant to drive away tax collectors who might get near her pockets to collect dues out of ‘a lavish’ life depicted in the picture.
“Tax collectors, this is not my alcohol, I just borrowed it to take photos. I have even been invited to this dinner.”
She further mocks what she terms as ” tax imposed on everything in Kenya”
“Right now they are taxing everything in Kenya. If they see you are living a good life, they send tax collectors”she informed her baby daddy
Her remarks come just a day after she lost her position in Government as the Talanta Hela Council and Technical Committee was revoked.
