Kenya Sevens have been relegated from World Rugby series for the first time in 23 years.

 

This is after they lost to Canada 12-7 in the in the relegation play-off final at the London Sevens.

 

Nelson Oyoo  gave his all on the left wing before landing as Anthony Omondi made it a  7-0 lead.

 

Josiah Morra would later hit back for Canada before halftime while Brock Webster added the extras to level the Kenya Sevens score as Kevin Wekesa went out after sustaining an injury.

 

The Kenyan team would later play less one man after John Okoth was sent on a sin bin.

 

Jeff Oluoch would later be pinned down after opting to go physical despite having many options to pass the ball.

 

Despite all the miseries, the Kenyan team stood out strong and constantly broke into the Canadians’ line of defence but luck wasn’t on their side.

 

They will therefore miss the forthcoming World Rugby Sevens Series having been y core side since 2004.2005 Season.
