Law Society of Kenya Cracks Whip on Fake Lawyers

The Law Society of Kenya in the latest move to weed out quacks masquerading as Lawyers has now launched a nationwide crackdown to whip them out.

In announcing the move, the society’s President Eric Theuri indicated that they will be working in hand with the Office of the Director of Prosecutions(ODPP) and National Police Service (NPS) to ensure justice is served.

“We are working closely with the National Police Service and DPP to ensure proper action is carried out against them,”he said.

He further referenced to the recent accusation of city lawyer Cliff Ombeta who was allegedly reported to have been operating without validation.

Theuri also pleaded with lawyers to stop practising till they receive a certification from the society.

“We urge our trained colleagues to desist from practising until they’ve attained a practising certificate. If they do, we will object to their admission to the bar when the time comes,”he pleaded.
