Pastor Murdered After Evening Service
Believers at Uganda Assemblies Of God Church in Munyonyo, Kampala City are mourning the death of their lead pastor who was murdered by unknown people.
Earnest Musaazi was reportedly on his way for an evening service at his church when he was attacked by unknown assailants close to his church that hit his head with an iron bar and robbed him of all his property.
Earnest was rushed to the hospital and admitted at Nsambya Hospital after the gruesome incident that happened on Wednesday and unfortunately breathed his last after three days in coma.
The deceased’s followers converged at the church and pledged to make contributions to have security intensified in their area as many other residents have been murdered in the same manner over time.
“We cry out to the authorities to deploy security in our area because it is too much. They don’t just take property but also take a life,” a woman cried out.
The deceased daughter remembered his father as a very peaceful and loving person who never had any conflicts with anyone.
“For the time I have spent with my father, I have never heard him fight anyone or get involved in dubious acts. He was both a pastor and a parent to many,” she said.
The boy of the deceased was taken to the church premises where his followers bid farewell to him before being taken to his ancestral home for burial in Busega.
Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and they already have leads that may connect them to the people that were involved in the attack.
Makindye Division Mayor, Haji Ali Nganda Mulyanyama condemned the act and vowed to work together with the local authorities to curb such attacks.
