Manchester United Midfielder Out For The Rest Of The Season
Manchester United have confirmed that on-loan midfielder Marcel Sabitzer will miss the rest of the season due to injury.
The 29-year-old is a loanee from Bayern Munich when he joined United in January, and the club announced on Monday that he will miss the club’s final three Premier League games as well as the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Before the victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, the Austrian international, who has made 18 appearances and scored three goals in all competitions since joining in January, sustained a knee injury and will not be able to play again this year.
United released a statement confirming the news: “Everyone at the club is disappointed to lose Marcel’s services as the Reds chase a strong finish to the season in the Premier League and FA Cup, and we are grateful for his contribution to our progress so far.” Read the statement.
A decision regarding his future has not yet been made, with United insisting they will have conversations with Bayern Munich regarding a permanent transfer.
