Babu Owino:Tax On Beauty Products Will Harm Tourism Industry
Owing to the controversial talks going on about the proposed 2023 financial bill.
Embakasi East Mp,Babu Owino has said that no tax should be imposed on beauty and cosmetics products including the weaves , wigs , fake eyelashes and beards saying if this will happens, it will affect the tourism sector in the country.
He added that women are the most consumers of these products and if they will be sold at an expensive price no woman will buy.
In addition he added that women use this products to attract the tourist , therefore adding tax will affect tourism sector in Kenya.
“A government that is stealing from our ladies is not a good government, and a real man should not steal from ladies. Our ladies are now putting on these wigs, the weaves to attract tourists. And the main tourist attraction in this country are our beautiful ladies,” Babu said.
The MP projected that the country is set to lose billions of money if the products will be expensive.
