Philadelphia Sixers Stuns Boston Celtics
Tuesday’s 115-103 Game 5 victory over the Boston Celtics helped the Philadelphia 76ers grab a 3-2 series lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Reigning MVP Joel Embiid led the Sixers With 33 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 blocks, he made 10-of-23 shots overall, including 3-of-7 long-distance shots.
He converted 10 out of 11 free throw attempts. Maxey scored 30 points, grabbed seven boards, and dished out three assists while shooting 6-of-12 from beyond the arc. Tobias Harris had 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Harden contributed 17 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds.
For the Boston Celtics,Jayson Tatum shot 11 of 27 from the field for a game-high 36 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Marcus Smart scored 14 points in the defeat, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points and six rebounds, and no other player had double digits.
Game 6 will be played back in Philadelphia, with the Sixers having a chance to win the series or the Celtics forcing a Game 7 with a win.
